Y&T To Film Dutch Show For Upcoming DVD
September 1, 2006Legendary California rockers Y&T has issued the following DVD update via their official newsletter:
"The most frequently asked question by Y&T fans these days contains three letters — DVD. We're excited to announce that the upcoming Y&T show on October 8th in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands (at Cultuurpodium Boerderij) will be professionally filmed by e-m-s of Germany (yes, it will be viewable in all regions of the world). We all look forward to this six-camera shoot and the final DVD product in 5.1 surround. So, if you're in Europe or the U.K., come on out to the October 8 show and be a part of the Y&T DVD!
"As for the compilation DVD, Dave Meniketti is still reviewing the mounds of videos that the band has accumulated over the past 32 years. It's a massive project, so please be patient and eventually a compilation DVD will result from the many months spent on this effort."
As previously reported, Y&T, who recently re-released their classic "Black Tiger" (1982) and "Mean Streak" (1983) albums with bonus cuts, have received the green light from the Universal Music Group (which owns the Y&T catalog) to reissue their 1981 effort, "Earthshaker".
Y&T in June announced that they have officially parted ways with drummer Leonard Haze. A replacement drummer, Mike Vanderhule, has since been recruited.
